Document Your Life: Budapest

I took a wonderful trip to the gorgeous city of Budapest in March and April 2015 with one of my best friends. This video features many bridges, the Fisherman’s Bastion, views of our shoes, and epic amounts of strudel.

1. ‘People As Places As People’ by Modest Mouse
2. ‘Another Travelin’ Song’ by Bright Eyes
3. ‘Interlude’ by The Decemberists

  1. Hi Kirsty! I found all of your images of Holocaust memorials really moving. I just finished this amazing book The Lost Wife that is also set in the Czech republic but it is set in Prague. It is set in World War II and it is also deeply moving as well. I think you would really like it! It is by Alyson Richman who has written other novels that I really want to read as well! Sincerely, Nora

    • Hi Nora – thank you so much for watching! ‘The Lost Wife’ sounds marvellous; thanks so much for the recommendation! I would highly recommend ‘Far to Go’ by Alison Pick; sounds like the kind of thing I think you’ll really enjoy. πŸ™‚

  2. Hi Kirsty! I think I already read Far To Go and I remember really liking it as well and finding it deeply moving too. It was the first book that I read that made me really interested in reading more World War II fiction. I also really want to recommend the Tatiana and Alexander saga by Paulina Simmons which is set in Russia during World War II and it is about a couple who meet and fall in love and have to overcome many obstacles just to be together. It is a trilogy that I think you might enjoy. The first book is The Bronze Horseman and the second book isTatiana and Alexander and the third book is The Summer Garden which is the only book in the series I have not read yet. But the series so far is really amazing! Sincerely, Nora
