In which I talk to you, at length, about the following:
1. ‘Diving Belles’ by Lucy Wood
2. ‘Five Children on the Western Front’ by Kate Saunders
3. ‘The Midas Touch: World Mythology in Bitesize Chunks’ by Mark Daniels
4. ‘Confronting the Classics’ by Mary Beard
All opinions are my own. Obviously.
I thought the Mary Beard book sounded particularly good! She’s one of my heroes :O)
She’s wonderful, isn’t she? I’m so glad you’re a fan of hers too!
Hi Kirsty! Speaking of mythology, I am curious if you have ever read American Gods by Neil Gaiman? It involves lots of mythological gods and goddesses from around the world. I have to read it for my Books n’ Booze club this month. So far it is really good and I was really happy to see that some of it took place at The House on the Rock which is not very far from my parents farm. I have even been considering going there again! Sincerely, Nora
I haven’t, but I’ll be adding it to my to-read list now; thanks so much for the recommendation! I hope you enjoy the discussion about it! 🙂
